ART. V, SECTION 2. TERMS
April 16, 2008 – 5:53 amThese elected officers of the Executive Branch shall hold office for four years beginning on the second Monday of January after their election and, except in the case of the Lieutenant Governor, until their successors are qualified. They shall be elected at the general election in 1978 and every four years thereafter.
No one shall be elected or appointed to serve more than eight years total in any one Executive Branch position under this Article. In applying this section, service in any existing Executive position resulting from an election or appointment prior to the effective date of this section shall not be counted.
